Mausoleum of Lucius Munatius Plancus

Description

The Mausoleum of Lucius Munatius Plancus is a remarkably well-preserved Roman tomb located on Mount Orlando in Gaeta, Italy. Constructed around 22 BC, it is a circular structure with a monumental cylindrical base and a tumulus-style roof, housing a small collection of Roman artifacts. The interior features four chambers accessible by a circular corridor, and although the sarcophagus is gone, a copy of Plancus's statue can be seen in the main chamber.
