We stayed here on 26th May 2024 and was met with the owners ferocious dog running free to attack our dog..Despite asking the owner to keep him tethered the next morning my partner took our dog for a walk on her lead and was viciously attacked by the owners dog running loose again. My partner was desperatel trying to keep our dog safe and tried to grab the other dog to keep him away from our dog. The dog dragged him to the gravel path causing his right arm to be cut and bleed profusely. His knuckles were so torn and bloody it looked as though he had been in a boxing match.. His scars didn't heal for several weeks. The owner apologised, however, be warned, this place is NOT dog friendly. Jan Taylor

Spend a night in a medieval museum. An amazing place complete with a very nice breakfast served by fireside in a 300 year old room.

A run down 15th century farm that graduated to being a fort. It is in the process of renovation (owners been at it for over 20 years), so has a run down feel to it. It is cute and with a bit of imagination and eye for how the peasents lived it can be very interesting.

A beautiful castle, full of history. It is in the middle of a very rustic village. Truly a wonderful location to spend a weekend on.

Ogrodzieniec Castle Ruins

Ogrodzieniec Castle is a ruined medieval castle originally built in the 14th–15th century by the W³odkowie Sulimczycy family. Established in the early 12th century, during the reign of Boles³aw III Wrymouth, the first stronghold was razed by the Tatars in 1241. In the mid-14th century a new gothic castle was built here to accommodate the Sulimczycy family. Surrounded by three high rocks, the castle was well integrated into the area. The defensive walls were built to close the circuit formed by the rocks, and a narrow opening between two of the rocks served as an entrance.

In 1470 the castle and lands were bought by the wealthy Cracovian townsmen, Ibram and Piotr Salomon. Then, Ogrodzieniec became the property of Jan Feliks Rzeszowski, the rector of Przemy¶l and the canon of Cracow. The owners of the castle about that time were also Jan and Andrzej Rzeszowskis, and later Pilecki and Che³miñski families. In 1523 the castle was bought by Jan Boner.
