Royal Victoria Park
Description
Royal Victoria Park is a historic 57-acre public park in Bath, opened in 1830 by the young Princess Victoria, who later became Queen Victoria. Overlooked by the famous Royal Crescent, the park combines landscaped gardens, historic monuments and a wide range of recreational facilities.
Visitors can enjoy the 9-acre Botanical Gardens, tennis and bowling greens, golf, a large children’s play area and a skateboard ramp. Notable features include the Victoria Column, built to commemorate Victoria’s coming of age, and the Great Dell, a former quarry now planted with unusual trees.
The park also hosts seasonal fairs, festivals, concerts and other events, making it a popular green space for both locals and visitors. It is recognised as a Grade I historic park and has received a Green Flag award.
