Randegg Castle

Description

Randegg Castle may have been built already in the 12th century to the site of roman fort. The medieval castle was destroyed in war agains Swiss army in 1499. The current Renaissance style residence construction was started in 1567. It was burned down by Swedish army in 1638 during the Thirty Years' War and restored later.

Today Randegg castle is privately owned and used for art exhibition for every two years. The oldest parts are remains of medieval walls and chapel from 1592.
