Bøstrup Church
Description
Bøstrup Church is the parish church of Bøstrup Parish in the Diocese of Funen and is located in Langeland Municipality. It is a medieval church that originally served as the district church for northern Langeland. The building is notable for carved stone reliefs set into the walls, including a head of Christ.
The altarpiece is a Renaissance work from around 1615, and the pulpit was made in 1634 in Renaissance style by the workshop of Hans Gudewerdt the Younger. In the churchyard is the grave of Constance Leth of Egeløkke, remembered for her close connection to N. F. S. Grundtvig, who fell deeply in love with her while working as a tutor at the estate in 1805.
